What’s Your Packaging Contingency Plan?
June | 2020

Here’s the thing about disasters: they rarely announce themselves until they are at your doorstep. Sure, in Wisconsin we can prepare ourselves for blizzards in the winter and heatwaves in the summer (you might even say we expect them,) but we aren’t planning on droughts, forest fires or floods even though they are can happen rather unexpectedly, the latter happening more and more every spring around the Midwest.

If the coronavirus pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that nothing is invincible; not our vitality and not our businesses, no matter how healthy they may seem. Basically, you can never be too prepared. Hindsight is 20/20, but who knows how well the economy would have fared had everyone had a plan in place to keep the engines of their business running. One thing’s for sure: we’re all going to be a little more cognizant of another pandemic, but what about any of the other freak disasters that can affect our lives? Do we have a plan?

Badger Paperboard does!

What’s Your Packaging Contingency Plan?

The Power of 4

With facilities in California, Texas, North Carolina and, of course, Wisconsin, we are able to cover the entire continental United States as well as parts of Canada and Mexico. But we are also able to cover each other. There were many reasons we expanded to south, east and west—top-notch customer service and excellent lead times to name a few—but another reason we invested in different facilities was our own little insurance policy: Badger Paperboard can be available through thick and thin! Consider if a wildfire was raging in California—a not uncommon occurrence—and we were forced to evacuate our facility in La Mirada, our Texas facility would be ready to service the Midwest while our Wisconsin headquarters could cover the Rocky Mountains and Northwest. If Texas likewise were to experience tornados or flooding, California is there to pick up the slack. A hurricane makes its way to Charlotte, North Carolina? We want our employees there worrying about their loved ones; Wisconsin and Texas can handle their customers needs.

The past few months have reminded us about the uncertainty of our world. It was a hard lesson, but a lesson learned nonetheless. But amidst all the uncertainties, you can be certain that Badger Paperboard products will be available to anyone who wants them!
